VIVA CUBA!!

Yeah, so there's a bit to say... and it can all be summed up in these simple words... F*ing awesome!! Everytime you turn a corner in Cuba, you are struck with the realization that YOU ARE IN CUBA!

The climbing was rad, the people: friendly, the company: as good as it gets. The trip couldn't have come at a better time, or have done me more good, and I owe that to Lauren and her Texas friends: Blaine, Greg, Suzee, Michelle, Eric, and the Rockstar Tom. I hope to see them all again.

After meeting in the airport in Cancun, we flew down to Havanna, and spent the night there. We found a ride into Vinalles the next After meeting in the airport in Cancun, we flew down to Havanna, and spent the night there. We found a ride into afternoon, and made ourselves at home at Oscar's. It was a very friendly place, and the food was awesome, although somewhat reminiscent of the food we had the previous day....hell, the previous meal even. We climbed, and drank, and bullshitted our way around the village. It was hit hard by the hurricane, but one gets a sense that community efforts are spread in a, well, socialistic fashion. Everyone comes together.

We met 2 cuban kids and a scrappy little dog(no relation), who took us around and climbed with us for the days we were out there. After we left, the group was kind enough to donate ropes, shoes, approach shoes, biners, and quick draws, along with some harnesses and the like. It's hard to get equipment there...and, like I said before.... These people represent everything good about Texas(except fashion-ha!)

So this post is mostly pics... there isn't much else to say: It's a place you observe, and feel... I didn't really do that much in the way of activity... Just walked around. It was the perfect lazy vacation. ......Oh yeah...and I went to Cancun too. Whatever...
